Anna was born in Stuttgart (Germany) in 1971.
She holds a Masters degree in industrial design (1997) from State Academy of Art and Design Stuttgart, with a stint at Central Saint Martins College in London

(UK). After graduation she worked as a product designer in the United States (IBM Design Center in Raleigh, NC) and in Germany, where she designed consumer electronics and household appliances as a member of award-winning design consultancy Design3 in Hamburg.
She moved to Canada in 2002 and started working as a senior designer at Toronto housewares manufacturer Umbra. Over the years she developed products for all of Umbra's product categories (bath, kitchen, tabletop, drapery & soft goods, photo frames and albums, furniture) and successfully brought to market over 140 of her designs, many of which have become bestsellers for Umbra. This included items for the Umbra catalog as well as private label collections for large North American retailers such as Target, Crate& Barrel, the Container Store, Bed Bath & Beyond and many more.
Anna started her own practice in 2008. Her designs have been featured in
magazines and design websites, and a few of them have won major design
awards (2x IF award, 4x Red Dot Award and others).
Most recently, her felted stool has been selected for the Prototypes exhibit at the Toronto Interior Design Show 2009.
